Position Duties: 

Performing actuarial calculations related to pricing, underwriting and loss and expense reserves.  Design default insurance products for auto leasing and retail loans.  Build loss forecast models and exposure analysis.  Manage insurance carrier’s actuarial needs and partnership.  Analyze and identify loss drivers and trends.  Create pricing models for insurance products.  Conduct research studies on various topics related to auto and lending industry.  Gather and analyze data for potential business expansion.  Identify specific business opportunities.  Influence stakeholders to support actuarial and insurance projects.  Recommend new insurance product features to continually improve our services to meet customer and partner needs.  Oversee all actuarial tasks and operations.  Provide status updates to exposure, loss reports, reserves, risk assessment, insurance compliance, etc. Coordinate with different departmental teams to product better business outcomes.  Consult senior-level stakeholders across the entire organization to understand business needs.  Work with the claims department to manage loss, reserves, and reporting.  Report to the Chief Executive Officer.  Create a monthly summary of actuarial results.  Collaborate with technology and underwriting teams to ensure the accuracy of our systems, underwriting, and pricing.  Manage enterprise risk and contribute to the Suretys Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.  Hold all necessary designations and licenses for underwriting, P&C actuary, P&C producer and surplus lines insurance, claim management and others that may be needed for legal and compliance responsibilities to operate the Suretys businesses. 

Position Requirements: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, and/or Actuarial Science.  Two (2) years of experience as an Actuarial, Actuarial Analyst, or related; and successful completion of the Society of Actuaries or the Casualty Actuarial Society exam.  

Demonstrated experience in or knowledge of the following surplus lines insurance, auto sales and auto lending practices (both leasing and retail loans).
